近年来,软件的自动调整(自动调整)作为一个有希望的方法,它试图自动调整程序的行为以获得给定计算系统的不同性能目标。由于现代多核基于硬件架构的复杂性越来越复杂,这种方法正在获得势头。已经探索了许多自动调整的解决方案,从简单的随机搜索到更加复杂的方法,如机器学习或进化搜索。To this day, it is still unclear whether these approaches are general enough to encompass all the complexities of the problem (e.g. search space, parameters influencing the search space, input data sensitivity, etc.), or which approach is best suited for a given problem. Furthermore, the growing interest in auto-tuning a program for several objectives is increasing this confusion even further. The goal of this paper is to formally describe the problem addressed by auto-tuning programs and review existing solutions highlighting the advantages and drawbacks of different techniques for single-objective as well as multi-objective auto-tuning approaches.
